Just a few steps from Taigh a' Bhraoin is Loch Broom, a sea Loch perfect for kayaking, rowing and fishing! You can fish in Loch Broom without a permit or head north to Rhu and fish from the rocks.
Most freshwater rivers and Lochs require a permit, including the River Broom, Rhidorroch Estate and Assynt. Permits are available from Lochbroom Hardware in Ullapool.
At Taigh a’ Bhraoin there is a range of birds and other wildlife to keep an eye out for! On your doorstep you can see Blue Tits, Red Kites, Golden Eagles and many more birds.
There are also Pine Martens, Seals, Otters, Porpoise and Dolphins as well as Basking Sharks and Minke Whales in the Loch on occasions. Orcas have also been spotted in the Minch and around the Northwest Coast so keep your eyes open.
